Players advance through the game while unlocking educational content related to their achievements.

The game invites players to explore fascinating narratives, such as the tale of Cassiopeia, the vain Queen of Ethiopia, and the myth of Perseus, who famously defeated Medusa. Additionally, players will discover stories like that of Orion, the great hunter, and his adversary, the giant Scorpion. Kiwaka skillfully illuminates the myths associated with each constellation as users strive to conquer them.

Developed in collaboration with esteemed organizations such as the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Southern Observatory (ESO), Kiwaka features over 120 captivating space images and provides external links for further exploration of the cosmos. The inclusion of various instructional videos aids players in locating significant stars and constellations in the night sky.

Set in a real-life location known as Kiwaka in the African jungle, players embark on an adventure filled with unusual creatures eager to learn about the night sky. The objective is to catch fireflies, each of which illuminates a star, revealing hidden mysteries and ancient myths as they light up the constellations.

Designed for children but enjoyable for all ages, Kiwaka offers a uniquely engaging approach to learning about astronomy. In addition to the main game, there is also a companion app titled Kiwaka Story, which narrates the characters' journeys to illuminate stars and uncover ancient legends. This app is narrated by Diogo Morgado, known for his roles in notable productions.
